When a child receives their regular primary care at the Community Health Centers, they are eligible for evaluation by the mental health services team and/or the psychiatric providers at CHC.
Depending on the level of needed care, the psychiatric providers may make recommendations to the primary care provider, may continue to see the child for several visits, or may recommend a higher level of care such as team-based psychiatric care available through the designated community health agency serving your family.
How Do I Get an Appointment?
- New to CHC? If your family has not established care yet with CHC, please call to schedule an appointment with a primary care physician to inquire about psychiatry as the parent/guardian. Psychiatry services are made if the PCP requires this level of psychiatric involvement, and through internal referral only.
- Existing CHC patient? If your family currently has a primary care physician at CHC, check with your PCP about if they feel specialized mental health consultation is necessary.
