Catherine Benoit, FNP is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a Vermont native. She received an undergraduate education in Dietetics, Nutrition, and Food Sciences from the University of Vermont, where she developed an interest in health promotion and wellness. She completed her nursing education through VTC and has experience in outpatient pediatrics and family medicine. Before coming to CHC, she worked at UVM Medical Center’s inpatient Hematology and Oncology unit as a chemotherapy nurse from 2019 to 2022, where she gained valuable clinical knowledge and a deeper connection with her community. While working as a nurse, she also completed her Master’s degree through Simmons University in Boston, Massachusetts, with a focus on family medicine. Her passions include health promotion, nutrition, and lactation education. In her free time she enjoys swimming, paddle boarding, reading, cooking, watching movies, gardening, and spending time with her family and two cats, Merry and Pippin. Accepting new patients.
Amy McGettrick, MD is a native Vermonter who grew up in the Champlain Islands. Dr. McGettrick graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Nursing. After working as a registered nurse, she went to medical school at the University of Vermont and received the Edward E. Friedman Excellence in the Practice of Family Medicine Award. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at Fletcher Allen Health Care and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Her professional interests include providing comprehensive care to individuals and families across the lifespan. She enjoys spending free time with family and friends, traveling, spending time outdoors, and enjoying live music. Not accepting new patients.
Megan O’Brien, FNP was born and raised in Vermont and is returning after living in Maine for the past several years. She received her bachelor’s degree at University of Vermont. Prior to entering the field of healthcare, Megan worked in international education where she had the opportunity to work and travel abroad. After attending the University of Southern Maine, where she received her master’s of nursing degree, she worked at a community health center in rural Maine. Megan is excited to return to Burlington and hopes to continue working with individuals and their families to improve their health and wellness. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, salsa dancing, sailing, and skiing. Accepting new pediatric patients birth to 18 years old.
Mark Pitcher, MD graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in 1987, completing his Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Vermont in 1991. He was Chief Resident from 1990-1991, and has been part of UVM’s Clinical Faculty since 1990. Dr. Pitcher is an ABIM Board Certified physician with over 25 years of experience in Primary Care Internal Medicine, and has served as the Medical Director for Burlington Health and Rehabilitation since 1995. Currently serves as an associate Medical Director with the VNA Hospice Program, and is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians. Dr. Pitcher is a baseball fan who enjoys watching the Yankees. Sarah Arvidson, FNP was born and raised in Massachusetts. She attended Colby College in Maine where she received a BA in biology. She graduated from MGH Institute of Health Professions after completing a direct-entry nurse practitioner program in 2020. Before coming to the Community Health Centers, she completed a family nurse practitioner residency at the Holyoke Health Center in Holyoke, MA. Her professional interests include providing care across the lifespan, women’s health and preventative medicine. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, biking, skiing (downhill and cross-country), listening to podcasts and any kind of outdoor adventure. Accepting new patients.
Jena Katzman, FNP was born in Vermont and grew up at the base of Camel’s Hump in the deep woods of Duxbury. She attended Mount Holyoke College where she studied medical anthropology and developed a keen interest in women’s and reproductive health. Jena was a member of the first graduating class of UVM’s direct-entry nurse practitioner program in 2010 and has been practicing in Vermont ever since, in both primary care and urgent care settings. Along with providing comprehensive family and women’s health services, Jena is passionate about incorporating mental health care into the primary care setting and promoting access to behavioral health services throughout our rural state. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, playing tennis, gardening, reading, writing, skiing, and spending time with the people she loves both here in Vermont and across the world in New Zealand where part of her family resides. Blake McKnight, MSN, FNP-C was born and raised in Vermont. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts degree, then entered the health care field through a job collecting blood donations at the American Red Cross, which led to a desire to become a family nurse practitioner. He earned a BSN degree at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, then completed the family nurse practitioner program at UVM. Before coming to the Community Health Centers, he worked for over four years at another local family practice, as well as a local college health center and two local urgent care clinics. His professional interests include diabetes management, primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease, health screenings, and the health benefits of a plant-based diet. Outside of work, Blake enjoys cooking, podcasts, music, reading, chess, and biking. He lives in South Burlington with his family. Accepting new patients.
Christopher Vogt, DO originally moved to Vermont to attend UVM for his undergraduate and returned to Vermont after attending Osteopathic medical school at University of Pikeville, Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine, Pikeville, Kentucky. Dr. Vogt was board certified in both Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) after attending residency at Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI. He provides Primary Care and Occupational Health, including care for acute and chronic medical conditions for patients of all ages. While working for Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center after residency Dr. Vogt acted as a clinical instructor for the Dartmouth Medical School. His love of teaching has led to his delivering multiple trainings on Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) to medical students, colleagues, and physician assistant students throughout New England. Dr. Vogt is passionate about the integration of behavioral health into the primary care setting for seamless coordination of care. His goal is to partner with patients to promote healthy choices and maintain the active lifestyle they desire. Stephen Baad, MD is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine. He graduated from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 2001. He joined CHC – Good Health after completing his residency in Internal Medicine from Fletcher Allen Health Care in 2004. Prior to entering medical school, he practiced for 13 years as a clinical social worker earning his degree from Columbia University in New York. Dr. Baad hails from Michigan where he attended the University of Michigan for his undergraduate degree. He has lived in Vermont with his wife and two children since 1992. He enjoys the breadth of patient care that internal medicine offers and has a particular interest in preventative care. Not accepting new patients.
John Brooklyn, MD is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine. He has worked at CHC since 1993 and previously served as Medical Director. He has been a strong advocate for integrating people with substance use disorders into medical homes and conceived of the nationally recognized Hub and Spoke model to seamlessly treat opioid use disorders. He is on the UVM Medical Center Family Medicine and Psychiatry faculty as an Assistant Clinical Professor and has been involved with the research of heroin, tobacco and cocaine use treatments there since 1992. His work helped lead to the approval of buprenorphine for opioid users. He is a national mentor for opioid use and substance use disorder treatment and a trainer for students, residents and faculty members throughout the United States. His interests remain in primary care, preventative care, the interface of behavior and health, the promotion of healthy lifestyles, treatment of substance use disorders, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. Clodagh Coghlan, NP holds a BS in Nursing from UVM, and an MS in Nursing from Boston’s MGH Institute of Health Professions. While completing her studies she worked for the VNA in Cambridge, MA and at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She then worked for Given Health Care from 1997-2001, after which she joined the CHC – Good Health team, where she has been ever since. Her focus is in Adult and Geriatric Primary Care. Peter Gunther, MD is a Board-certified General Internist and adult Primary Care Physician. He graduated from Cornell University Medical college and completed his residency in Primary Care Internal Medicine at UVM/FAHC. After his residency he served as Chief Medical Resident and later as full-time Faculty at UVM and Given Health Care Center. He is one of the original partners of Good Health. Alexandra (Alex) Toof MMS, PA-C was born and raised in Vermont. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Health Science from the University of North Florida and a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Nova Southeastern University in 2013. She initially practiced Neurosurgery at UF Health in Jacksonville before relocating back to Vermont where she has been practicing in the Emergency Room and Urgent Care settings for the past seven years. She is passionate about caring for young adults, women’s health and incorporating shared decision making into her practice. Christine D. Northrup, MD is a board certified physician in Internal Medicine. She received her medical degree at the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 1993. She completed her Primary Care Internal Medicine residency training at Fletcher Allen Health Care/ UVM Medical Center in 1996, and then served as Chief Medical Resident. Prior to entering medical school, she worked as an RN, earning her Bachelors Degree in Professional Nursing at UVM. After completing her medical training, she worked for Given Health Care Center, and then entered private practice. She joined CHC – Good Health in May, 2021 after 21 years of private practice in Shelburne. Dr. Northrup’s clinical interests include comprehensive health care, preventive care, and women’s health. Paulette Thabault, DNP, APRN-BC, JD, FAANP cares for patients with a focus on the treatment of obesity and related chronic illnesses. She is a Professor and Director for the School of Nursing at Norwich University, and has lectured in health care leadership at UVM and Northeastern University. She has consulted on patient-centered and clinical excellence practice innovations and currently serves on the Vermont Board of Nursing, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse sub-committee and is the current Board President of Lund Family Center. She volunteers internationally leading nursing and nurse practitioner students on community health care brigades delivering care to impoverished villages in Nicaragua. Not accepting new patients.
Elisabeth (Liz) Wells, NP holds a BS in Nursing from Columbia University in NYC in 1998 and an MS in Nursing from Georgetown University in Washington, DC in December 2014. Sherry Larose, PA was born and raised in Franklin County, Vermont. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Clark University in 2005 and her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2009. Before PA school, Sherry worked as a Histology Supervisor at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and as an Emergency Department Technician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Her professional interests include all aspects of family medicine especially adolescent medicine, mental health, and health education and prevention. Andrea Solomon, PA is a Vermont native who was raised in this community. In 2003, Andrea graduated from Skidmore College with a concentration in Women’s Studies. Benjamin (Ben) Baker, PA is a physician assistant who practices general primary care for all ages and backgrounds. He graduated with a degree in Biology from the University of Vermont, and Physician Assistant Studies at Quinnipiac University. He worked at a community health center in rural Oregon for eight years prior to moving back home to Vermont. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the great outdoors. Accepting new patients.
Beach Conger, MD grew up in Pleasantville, New York. He attended Amherst College and Harvard Medical School, from which he graduated with honors in 1967. He did his residency in internal medicine at Boston City Hospital and the University of California, San Francisco from 1967 to 1972, with two years as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the Center for Disease Control. In January 1972 he founded San Francisco’s first federally funded health center, where he served as its medical director until 1977, at which time he moved to Windsor, Vermont to practice internal medicine. He practiced in Windsor until July of 2015, except for the five years when he served as Chief of the Section of Hospital Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia from 2001 to 2006. He has seven grandchildren and three children. Dr. Conger is the author of three books, Bag Balm and Duct Tape, It’s Not My Fault, and most recently It’s Probably Nothing. He joined the Community Health Centers of Burlington in 2009 as an urgent care doctor and is now providing primary care. He has a special interest in treating Seriosity. Not accepting new patients.
Michelle Dorwart, MD, MPH was born and raised in western Nebraska. She attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, where she received a BA in theology. She graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine before moving to Baltimore where she earned a Master of Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins University. For residency, she and her husband (who is a teacher) decided to pursue a shared fantasy of moving to Vermont. She graduated from the University of Vermont Medical Center Family Medicine Residency in June of 2016 and is delighted to be a part of the team at CHC as a family physician working with people of all ages. Her professional interests include, but are not limited to, obstetrics and newborn care, family planning, adolescent medicine, and addressing social determinants of health. Margaret (Maggie) Graham, MD was born and raised Des Moines, Iowa. She received her BA in Women’s Studies and MS in Epidemiology at the University of Iowa before moving to Vermont to attend medical school. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at the UVM Medical Center in 2021 and is excited to be part of the team at CHC. Her interests in medicine include LGBTQ+ medicine, especially transgender health /gender affirming care, women’s health, medication assisted treatment for substance use disorders, pediatric and adolescent health, as well as general adult medicine. She is thrilled to be able to help run CHC’s specialized services for LGBTQ+ patients. Maggie believes developing therapeutic relationships with her patients is the best part of being a primary care provider. Sara Headley, FNP-C was born and raised just outside of Baltimore and first came to Vermont to obtain her undergraduate degree in nursing at the University of Vermont. She worked as a nurse in a variety of settings, took some time off to race as a professional cyclist and eventually obtained her Family Nurse Practitioner graduate degree at the University of California San Francisco. After almost 10 years on the west coast, Sara is excited to be back east in Vermont servicing the community here. She has particular passions for adolescent medicine, mental health care, and all things sports medicine and women’s health. She believes patients deserve a provider who will listen and include them in every step of the treatment plan. Lincoln Heath, MD was born and raised in Vermont. He did his undergraduate education at McGill University where he received a BS in biology and a minor in social studies of medicine. He was awarded his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 2012 and stayed to completed residency training at UVM Medical Center, specializing in Family Medicine. Dr. Heath is excited to provide Obstetric and Newborn care, Pediatrics, and Adult medicine. He is passionate about caring for families, New Americans, refugees, and those in need. Michael Ialeggio, MD moved to Vermont when he was thirteen, and completed middle school and high school in Randolph. As an undergraduate student, he studied Economics and Politics at Oberlin College in Ohio. He enjoyed a lengthy stretch of freewheeling during his twenties, during which time he worked with a labor union, a national park, and a vegetable farm, amongst many other seasonal adventures and assorted odds and ends. He attended medical school at UVM and returns to Burlington after a three-year hiatus in Rochester, NY, where he completed his residency in Family Medicine. Michael is excited to re-examine the Burlington creemee scene (which faces strong competition from Rochester’s frozen custard) and to find an old boat to sail on in Mallets Bay. He enjoys standard outdoorsy hobbies and is also interested in mental health, Spanish, saxophone, and reading. He is excited to join the OB team as part of CHC’s Maternal/Child Health Program. Emma Leonard, CNM, WHNP-BC was born and raised in Richmond Vermont. She received a BS in biology from Saint Michael’s College in 2011 and a BS in nursing from Fairfield University in 2015. Emma first worked for CHC as a Registered Nurse and is honored to return after getting her MS in nursing from Georgetown University. She believes in cultivating a therapeutic relationship with patients and working from a shared decision-making model of care. Her professional interests include, but are not limited to, reproductive health, transgender health/gender affirming care and perinatal care. Karla Martinez-Dulmer, MD was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico. She attended the University of Guadalajara where she received her degree as a Medical Doctor. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Mexican Institute of Social Security in Guadalajara before moving to Syracuse, NY where she did her residency in Family Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. She continued working as an attending physician at St. Joseph’s hospital for two years before moving to Vermont with her family in the spring of 2018. She is delighted to be a part of the CHC team as a family physician working with people of all ages. Her professional interests include, but are not limited to, working with the refugee population, women’s health, pediatrics including new born care, and adult medicine. Elizabeth (Liz) Nowalk, FNP graduated with her Masters of Science and Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Binghamton University in 2019. She has been a registered nurse since 2009, working primarily in an emergency room in New York, and then in a Medical ICU. Rochelle (Shelly) Paquette, FNP is a native Vermonter who is thrilled to be back at CHC after seven years working, adventuring and getting her Doctor of Nursing Practice in the Pacific Northwest. She obtained her BSN at the University of Scranton in 2007 and first worked for CHC as a Registered Nurse at the CHC – Safe Harbor. Shelly spent eight months working in Haiti prior to obtaining her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Portland, Oregon in 2017, and completed a Nurse Practitioner Residency program through Yakima Valley Farm Workers in 2018. Shelly has a passion for public health and her experiences working in communicable diseases, homeless health care, and with the refugee and immigrant populations in both Vermont and Oregon provided a unique framework for caring for people of all backgrounds and interests. She believes that the therapeutic relationship between provider and patient is special and the foundation for primary care. In her free time, she enjoys learning new languages, traveling, hiking, and spending time with her spouse and two dogs. Not accepting new patients outside of New American Clinic.
Alicyn Trask, PA-C, MMSc completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Neuroscience at University of Colorado, Boulder. She received her Master’s of Medical Science from Emory University’s Physician Assistant program with special emphasis in rural healthcare. Before joining CHC, she worked for Stride Community Health Center in Denver, Colorado for 13 years. Most recently, she completed a 2-year fellowship in dermatology in South Florida where she was awarded the distinction of diplomate fellow by the Society of Dermatology PAs. Her professional interests include holistic medicine, the connection between physical and mental health, women’s health and dermatology. During her spare time, she enjoys adventures of all kinds – hiking with her dogs, biking, backpacking, skiing and traveling the world – as well as yoga, reading and word puzzles. Wayne Warnken, MD graduated from Western State College and from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Medical School. He completed his residency at the University of Washington Family Medicine Residency-Valley Medical Center. Before medical school Dr. Warnken worked at Samaritan House-Homeless Shelter, in Denver Colorado; for the United States Park Service; and as a research assistant at the Salk Institute. Dr. Warnken’s professional interests are in Spanish, addiction medicine, pediatrics and adolescent medicine, nutrition, and sports medicine. When Dr. Warnken is not at work he is active in the H.O. Kerry Goulette, PA-C, MHP graduated from College of Holy Cross and received her Physician Assistant certificate and Master of Health Professions from Northeastern University. Before her arrival at the Health Center in 2006, Kerry worked for Lynn Community Health Center and Boston Medical Center in Massachusetts. Her professional interests include adult medicine and preventive health. Kerry is currently focusing her practice on the adult homeless population in our community. Elizabeth (Liz) Fuccillo, PA-C was born and raised in New Jersey. She earned a BS in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont. She received her master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Franklin Pierce University. Following PA school she completed the Norwalk Hospital/Yale School of Medicine PA Surgical Residency program. She worked as an orthopedic and hospitalist PA in NYC before returning to Vermont. Her professional interests include adult medicine, orthopedics, and mental health. Adrienne Jarvis, MD grew up in Burlington, Vermont. She received both her BA in art history and her MD from the University of Vermont and completed the Family Medicine Residency Program at UVM Medical Center in 2021. Prior to medical school, she worked locally at various times as a labor and delivery assistant, a baker, a video store manager, and a clinical research assistant for Dengue Fever and West Nile Virus vaccine studies. Mary Anne Kohn, AGNP returned to Vermont from Portland, Oregon. She holds a BA from Loyola University, an MSW from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, and received her MS in Nursing from UVM’s College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Throughout her professional career, Mary Anne’s focus was primarily on issues of homelessness, mental health issues, and substance use. As a Nurse Practitioner, she works closely with her patients to respond to acute and ongoing health care needs, provides accessible health education, and encourages patient engagement in their care and wellness plans. Megan Mogerley, FNP was born and raised in Vermont. She earned a BS in Nursing from Southern New Hampshire University and worked as a RN while obtaining a Masters of Science in Nursing from Simmons University. Alexis Purdy, PA-C was born and raised in Vermont. She graduated from Endicott College with a BS in Athletic Training. She received her master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of New England. Prior to PA school, Alexis worked as a Medical Assistant at UVM Medical Center and as an EMT at Essex Rescue. Jacob Shaw, MD came to Vermont from Chicago, Illinois. After serving as a Navy Hospital Corpsman, he completed his undergraduate degree in Biology and his Medical degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago. From there he completed his residency training in Family Medicine at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, IL. After graduating from this program, he stayed on to serve as Chief Resident for an additional year where he maintained a clinical practice, including obstetric care. His medical interests include comprehensive primary care, maternity care, pediatrics, and medical education. Adam Greenlee, MD, grew up on a beef cattle farm in rural Southwestern Pennsylvania, before moving on to Colgate University and graduating with a BA in history. After completing his undergraduate degree, he taught English in South Korea as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant and worked within the Office of AIDS Research at the National Institutes of Health. He received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and remained in Pittsburgh for training in the UPMC St. Margaret/WPIC combined family medicine/psychiatry residency program. His personal interests include improving the interface between mental and physical health and health care systems that improve patient care through integrating physical and behavioral health. While not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, books, animals, and enjoying the great outdoors. Not accepting new patients.
Jessica Griffin, FNP completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at UVM, and worked in HIV research for several years in Boston before deciding to pursue a career as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She completed her MSN at Simmons College and then moved back to VT where she spent two years working in a rural clinic in the Northeast Kingdom. She values getting to know her patients and loves that being an FNP means seeing patients of all ages, from newborn to elderly. Her professional interests include addressing social determinants of health and understanding the ways in which culture impacts health behaviors. She believes a non-judgmental approach where patients can be open and honest about their needs is essential to providing excellent care. Outside of work she loves to cook, hike, bike and ski with her husband and dog. Accepting new patients.
Irene Koplinka-Loehr, MD grew up in Ithaca, New York before moving to Carleton College in Minnesota where she graduated with a BA in studio art. She completed her medical degree at the Medical School for International Health in Beer Sheva, Israel, a medical school focused on global health and international medicine. She then moved back to upstate New York to finish out her residency training through the University of Rochester. Irene joined the Community Health Centers in 2017 and has been enjoying her practice out of the Winooski practice since that time. She has a special interest in full-spectrum family medicine, complex patient care, and working towards a more equitable health care system for all. Outside of the clinic you may see her running, biking, swimming, or spending time with her family near Lake Champlain. Not accepting new patients.
Tyler O’Bryan, MD is board certified in family medicine. He completed his dual undergraduate degrees in Biochemistry (B.Sc.) and Cultural Anthropology (B.A.). He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine with a focus on global health and earned his residency program across Lake Champlain in Plattsburgh, New York. While originally from Canada, he has relocated to Vermont and made it his home. Tyler’s practice interests include infectious disease management, Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), global health, and helping his patients achieve their own health goals. Outside of work, he enjoys family time, cooking and entertaining with his wife, running with his dog, both Nordic and alpine skiing, training for triathlons, and like any good Canadian he also loves hockey. Bang To, PA-C grew up in Winooski, VT and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Biological Sciences and Chemistry from the University of Vermont in 2007. He earned his MS and Physician Assistant Certification from Lenox Hill Hospital through the Pace University Physician Assistant Program in New York City in 2010. Bang is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and is Board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Before PA school, he worked as a direct care provider for the Visiting Nurse Association and as a Vietnamese interpreter for UVM. He worked at Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, NY after graduation and moved back to Vermont in 2013. He worked at Northwestern Medical Center Urgent Care in St. Alban’s VT before joining CHC – Winooski in 2014. His clinical interests are in Urgent Care and Family Medicine.
