  • The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for parts of Vermont from noon Wednesday, July 1, through 7 PM Friday, July 3.

Dangerously hot conditions are expected, with heat index values up to 106. In Vermont, this warning includes the Champlain Valley and eastern Windsor County. The hottest hours will be between 1 PM and 5 PM each day.

Drink plenty of fluids. Stay in an air-conditioned space if you can. Stay out of the sun. Check on relatives and neighbors.
