- Individualized medical nutrition therapy can help with an array of chronic disease including, but not limited to, prediabetes, diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, digestive discomfort, and disordered eating patterns.
- Nutrition counseling may also include diet modification, tips for shopping on a budget, community nutrition resources, mindful eating strategies, and more.

Registered Dietitians
Stephanie Bergen, MS, RD, CD was born and raised in Essex Junction, Vermont. She received her BS in Dietetics, Nutrition, and Food Sciences and her MS in Dietetics, with a concentration in community nutrition, from the University of Vermont. Following the completion of her graduate studies, she moved to Utah and explored the western United States for seven years before relocating back to Vermont in 2021. Her interests in nutrition include community-based health interventions, anti-hunger initiatives, sustainable food systems, chronic disease prevention and management, and creating a healthy relationship with food at all ages. She believes all bodies deserve respect and all foods can fit within a healthful, nourishing meal pattern. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, cooking, exploring cultural cuisines, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
Mattie Alpaugh, MS, RDN, CD has lived in Vermont since 2008 and received a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics, Nutrition, and Food Sciences and a Master of Science in Dietetics, with concentrations in community nutrition and sustainable food systems, from the University of Vermont. She then worked as a research coordinator at the University of Vermont where she coordinated studies exploring the relationship between home cooking and health outcomes, the effects of COVID-19 on food security, and online-based nutrition interventions. Her primary professional interests include culinary nutrition, vegetarian nutrition, weight-inclusive care, intuitive eating, and community-based food security initiatives. When she is not working, Mattie enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, DIY projects to fix up her old house, fiber arts, and getting outside.
