CHC has heard concerns from patients about a letter they received recently from Vermont Health Connect.
On May 11, Vermont Health Connect sent letters to several hundred people enrolled in health plans asking for documentation of Social Security numbers, citizenship status, immigration status, and annual income. Vermont Health Connect is operated by the State of Vermont under the Agency of Human Services.
This request does not mean there is a problem. The requested information has to be updated from time to time to confirm eligibility for benefits. This is a routine update.
If you are a CHC patient and need help understanding or responding to the letter, we are happy to help. Please schedule an appointment with CHC’s Patient Support Services team by calling (802) 264-8124.
CHC provides care for all and does not require patients to provide their immigration status or proof of citizenship.
