Medical Providers at Essex
Jena Katzman, FNP was born in Vermont and grew up at the base of Camel’s Hump in the deep woods of Duxbury. She attended Mount Holyoke College where she studied medical anthropology and developed a keen interest in women’s and reproductive health. Jena was a member of the first graduating class of UVM’s direct-entry nurse practitioner program in 2010 and has been practicing in Vermont ever since, in both primary care and urgent care settings. Along with providing comprehensive family and women’s health services, Jena is passionate about incorporating mental health care into the primary care setting and promoting access to behavioral health services throughout our rural state. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, playing tennis, gardening, reading, writing, skiing, and spending time with the people she loves both here in Vermont and across the world in New Zealand where part of her family resides. Accepting new patients.
Blake McKnight, MSN, FNP-C was born and raised in Vermont. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts degree, then entered the health care field through a job collecting blood donations at the American Red Cross, which led to a desire to become a family nurse practitioner. He earned a BSN degree at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, then completed the family nurse practitioner program at UVM. Before coming to the Community Health Centers of Burlington, he worked for over four years at another local family practice, as well as a local college health center and two local urgent care clinics. His professional interests include diabetes management, primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease, health screenings, urgent care, and the health benefits of a plant-based diet. Outside of work, Blake enjoys cooking, podcasts, music, reading, chess, and biking. He lives in South Burlington with his family. Accepting new patients.
Christopher Vogt, DO originally moved to Vermont to attend UVM for his undergraduate and returned to Vermont after attending Osteopathic medical school at University of Pikeville, Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine, Pikeville, Kentucky. Dr. Vogt was board certified in both Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) after attending residency at Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI. He provides Primary Care and Occupational Health, including care for acute and chronic medical conditions for patients of all ages. While working for Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center after residency Dr. Vogt acted as a clinical instructor for the Dartmouth Medical School. His love of teaching has led to his delivering multiple trainings on Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) to medical students, colleagues, and physician assistant students throughout New England. Dr. Vogt is passionate about the integration of behavioral health into the primary care setting for seamless coordination of care. His goal is to partner with patients to promote healthy choices and maintain the active lifestyle they desire. In his free time, Dr. Vogt enjoys rock and ice climbing, hunting, and boating on Lake Champlain. Accepting new patients.

Meaghan McFadden, LICSW is a native Vermonter who received her BA in Religion from Davidson College and her MSW from Portland State University. She worked most recently on the Integrated Health Team at Northwestern Counseling providing counseling and care coordination to patients at Northwestern Primary Care in St. Albans. Meaghan has expertise in depression and anxiety management, self-care and wellness, health and behavior change, insomnia treatment, and stress reduction.
