You do not have to be in therapy for a long time to benefit. Brief, targeted care can help you build skills and feel better sooner.
WHAT IS MENTAL HEALTH?
Mental health is part of behavioral health. It includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. Mental health is a state of well-being that helps us cope with the stresses of life, realize our abilities, learn and work well, and contribute to our community.

Did you know that therapy does not have to take months or years to be helpful?
At the Community Health Centers (CHC), we offer Integrated Behavioral Health. This is a team-based approach that embeds behavioral health professionals, known as Behavioral Health Consultants (BHCs), directly into our primary care settings. The goal is to address both physical and mental health needs in a coordinated and efficient way.
BHCs are licensed professionals such as psychologists or clinical social workers. They provide brief, targeted interventions for mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and health-related concerns that can impact day-to-day life.
With busy schedules and competing demands, many people benefit from brief, focused care. The best part is that it can really work.
Here are three options we offer at CHC:
Single-Session Intervention (SSI)
A Single-Session Intervention is a structured therapeutic or support session designed to produce meaningful benefit in one meeting.
- Research shows SSIs can reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, and behavioral difficulties for some individuals
- Particularly effective for mild-to-moderate concerns and early intervention
- Often focuses on practical coping tools, reframing, problem-solving, or motivational techniques
- Clients leave with strategies they can use independently
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi)
- Brief treatment, typically 7 sessions
- Offered in person or by telehealth
- Works well if sleep issues are new or chronic
- Most people see significant improvement in sleep
Ultra-brief therapy (UBT)
Ultra-brief therapy refers to interventions delivered in a very small number of sessions, often 1–3, with a focused, goal-oriented approach.
Benefits may include:
- Fast access to support
- Time efficiency
- Lower cost
- Focused problem-solving
Many people experience meaningful relief quickly, particularly for:
- Stress
- Mild anxiety
- Situational depression
- Adjustment difficulties
- Relationship conflicts
- Crisis management
