CHCB announces resignation of Executive Director, Joseph B. Arioli
The Community Health Center of Burlington's Board of Directors today announced that its long-time Executive Director, Joseph B. Arioli, has resigned his position. Arioli indicated in his letter of resignation that he intends to pursue other professional opportunities. The Community Health Center is a non-profit, federally qualified health center.
Mr. Arioli has served as the agency's head for the past 13 years. He presided over the expansion of the Community Health Center from a modestly sized medical practice to a multidimensional health resource center serving patients with some of the most challenging health needs in Vermont.
Dr. Phillip Lavoie, President of the Board of Directors, credited Arioli with playing a pivotal role in the transformation of the agency. "When Joe assumed the position of Executive Director, the Community Health Center had 25 employees providing approximately 15,700 patient visits per year. Thanks in great measure to his leadership and dedication, the agency has expanded to 130 employees and when fully staffed, is responsible for some 65,000 patient visits on an annual basis. His dedication, commitment, and efforts have been instrumental to the expansion of the Community Health Center's services and the quality of its personnel and programs."
The Community Health Center's board of directors has initiated a national search to identify a successor and has appointed Grace Gilbert Davis as Interim Executive Director.
