Socks for the Streets Fundraiser
Socks for the Streets
On Thursday June 4th, 200+ people gathered as they do every week for kickball at Oakledge Park. This week, the games involved more than semi-serious competition and a BBQ.
The Burlington kickballers generously donated 294 pairs of socks to the Community Health Center of Burlington's Safe Harbor and Pearl Street Clinics, which provide health care to Chittenden County's 1,200 homeless adults, teens, and children. Most homeless patients walk miles every day in poor footwear and often without socks. That means painful, injured feet. The large sock donation will help to elivate the suffering these patients endured.
Thank you to all the kickballers who donated socks and cash, all of which go directly to help CHCB's homeless health care patients.
2,400 feet thank you!
