CHCB Names a New Executive Director

The Community Health Center of Burlington (CHCB) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Jack Donnelly, MBA has been selected to lead Chittenden County’s only Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving 13,000 Vermonters. Donnelly was selected through an extensive national search of health care executives.

“We interviewed candidates from all across the country and are particularly delighted to find our new leader is a Vermonter,” says CHCB Board President, Phil Lavoie, DDS. “ With more than twenty years of health care experience working in the state’s FQHC systems, Jack is the leader CHCB needs to further our mission and successfully grow Chittenden County’s most comprehensive and accessible medical home.”

Mr. Donnelly is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and earned his M.B.A from the University of Rhode Island.  With more than twenty five years of health care executive experience in New England and Vermont, he served as Vice President of Human Resources at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, Rhode Island and most recently was Director of Operations & Human Resources at Northern Counties Health Care of St. Johnsbury, Vermont’s largest Federally Qualified Health Center system. Since 2008, Mr. Donnelly has been Director of Operations for CHCB.  He recently led CHCB’s facility expansion project, which resulted in a $10.9 million dollar construction award designed to significantly enhance access to a comprehensive medical home for Chittenden County residents.

According to Donnelly, “This is a fantastic time to be here and to be part of this organization.  We’ve already started along a good path towards increasing our presence in the community, becoming a medical home for our patients and broadening the patient population we serve, while remaining a safety net for all.  Our aim is to become the community health center for all in our communities.”

The Community Health Center of Burlington (CHCB) is one of Burlington's largest family practice medical practices and one of only eight non-profit, federally qualified health centers in Vermont. CHCB provides comprehensive health, dental, and human services to 13,000 Vermonters.  Our programs are designed to increase access and includes a sliding fee scale based on ability to pay for medical, dental and behavioral health services; connection to free and low cost prescription programs; case management and interpreter services for non-English speaking patients.  CHCB’s Homeless Health Care Program offers a full range of services at two specialized clinics, Safe Harbor Clinic for adults and families at 184 South Winooski Avenue, and Pearl Street Clinic designed for at-risk youth and young adults located on Pearl Street. CHCB is funded in part by a grant from the US Health Resources and Services Administration and generous community support.
